Jack o'lantern
tiny orange kitten
smells of autumn splendor, sweet
Jack o'lantern secrets.
Secondhand Smiles. She tries to smile at me
and it breaks my heart.
Because I know it's just fake.

It's going to take more than a smile
to prove to me that you're okay, love.
Addiction.I barely have the strength to fly
And instead I'd rather fall.
It's a black and white world.

but you always keep my heart pumping.

I think of them
and recall how wise
are the eyes of
my little sister,
always laughing-

wind whisperer
through outstretched
oceans of blue grass
surrounded by
rolling island dunes

and the stalks of
her crowning pale glory,
but her eyes
are the constant
changing of seasons-

the silver grey
of low-lying mists
that roll in at dawn
after the night
gives up its gems,

deepest sapphires,
to reclaim them when
she stirs from sleep
while I keep
clinging to her,

and I let myself
drift in her seasons
with eyes open,
feeling safe a while
in our single bed

red and green dancing figures
bright lights shimmer proud

Carol singing starts
joyful notes piercing the sky
happy faces show

Snow is falling down
white flakes floating along
landing softly down

Christmas Evening
children are sleeping soundly
morning approaching

Holidays arrive
the air is cold and lively
morning joy is here
Stupid sticksTap toes on cold tile
five am, empty bladder,
pray for two pink lines
virgahe, he is nimbus --
booming about the house and
causing torrential

downpour, but she is
altostratus, casting gray
shadows and weeping

at windows.  her sobs
come often, and come thick, but
he has no need for

an umbrella -- her
tears are virga; they fall but
there is no splashing.

Unappreciated. Why?
